By 18 months how many words did your child have, and how often did they use them?

my twins are almost 18 months. they have a few words but they NEVER use them.
all the other toddlers I know are speaking much more.

i'm totally over reacting however, because the other toddlers I know are like 2, and all kids are different.
plus they know what things are, i can say go get a ball, and they know what a ball is. they just don't use words...

but I'm just curious!

  • when my daughter was 18 months she could talk to adults like an adult lol she was such a good talker but my niece didn't really start using her words around 3 and her mom put her in speech therapy through the relief nursery and now she is talking alot

  • At 18 months, my 21 month old had probably a 50-75 word vocab if I were to guess (I don't count every word). She didn't start getting really chatty till hitting the 18/19 month mark. She understands a whole lot though like if you tell her to do something, she does it. She also speaks/understands Spanish and English.

  • My daughter was speaking in sentences at 18 months.
