When did your children stop taking naps?

My girls are 5 and 2, and they still need them, but my 5 year old has recently started fighting them terribly.

If she doesn't get them, at around 6 o'clock she starts whining and crying because she is tired.

I'm 27 and still want them!

  • My oldest is 6 now and stopped napping by age 3 1/2, my 4 1/2 yr old still naps and so does my 2 1/2 and 10month old boys. Each child has different needs. My oldest was fine withot a nap by age 3 1/2. My 4yr old is a monster without one.

  • My children all stopped napping around age 3, but their bedtimes adjusted themselves....they went to bed earlier and slept longer.

  • They were all around 6-6 1/2....they stopped napping the summer before they started the 1st grade (they had 1/2 day Kindergarten in the a.m. and had to be up at 6a so they still napped around 1-2pm since they were up so early).
