Has anyone tried the "BOB" books for beginning reading skills?

Did they help your child make the jump from knowing the letters to understanding that letters make words?
Did they help your child learn the "sound it out" concept?
What did you or your child like about them?
What did you or your child not like?

My kids loved them! They still read them even though they are all good readers!

Bob Books are great. But the child needs to know what the letters sound like before the BOB books. One of the places you can try for phonics is www.softschools.com
    Good luck!

My son really likes them. We used the hooked on phonics set first toteach him him how to sound out the letters. Now the bob books are nice because he can read the entire book by himself and he is really proud of himself. He also likes the sticks in the back.
