How do I get my picky 2 year old to eat?

I have a 2 yr 8 mth old and she will not eat anything! She can go 3 - 4 days with barely eating anything. She is making me so nervous. Any tips will be welcomed.

  • remember that kids this young do not have the ability to either over-eat or starve themselves "just because." you may be giving her too much milk or other heavy drink which can really shrink an appetite, or she just isnt ready to grow and doesnt need much. also, if you put too much food on a toddlers plate at mealtime it can overwhelm them. start with tiny, tiny portions and let her ask for more if she wants it. also, offer tons of healthy, fun snacks throughout the day

  • My daughter is the same way but we dont make her anything special, she gets what we get and if she doesnt like it she doesnt hav to eat it, but making them diff things just teaches them they are alowed to be piky and im sure you dont want that lol...just make food fun and small portions u dont want to overwhelm them with lots of food

  • My son is almost 2, and he will go days not eating much then all of a sudden start eating again!! When my son goes through those non-eating phases I make sure to give him lots of milk and before bed I make him a carnation instant breakfast...I usually get chocolate flaver so thinks its a treat!!

  • Thank you Mothers for all of your great advise! After reading these answers...I think I am putting too much on her plate. I think she is getting overwhelmed! Thanks again...I learned something from each of you!
