Sign my water may be about to break?

I am 37wks pregnant. He measures at 39wks. So they tell me he could come at anytime now. I started seeing a tiny bit of blood. Just little spots. Could this be a sign my water might be about to break? I had been having contractions, however, they stopped the last 2 days.

  • Could be a sign of dilating. That doesn't necessarily mean anything, as far as when you'll go into labor or when your water will break. It's ideal for you to be in labor before your water breaks, anyway, for the sake of the clock the hospital (if you're having a hospital birth) will put you on once your water breaks. I had no idea my water HAD broken, I thought I had wet the bed! There usually isn't any warning, it just happens. Sometimes, the water doesn't even break, and the baby can be born in the caul (still in the sac), which can be an awesome experience (no dangers).

  • No I don't believe there are any signs to water breaking.. Could mean your cerivix is dialting and breaking blood vessels or it could be the start of bloody show.
