Gghhhaaa ds has the flu

ds has had a fever since sunday night, never broke, so i of course assumed a cold or the flu. we wait it out, until he started complaining that his penis was hurting when he went potty (he's fully trained night and day) so of course i took him to the doctor. nothing wrong with him though, so the only thing i got was confirmation that he did have the flu and he's STILL contagious. Doc said i was doing the right thing, giving tylenol and motrin, pushing fluids, not much else they can do at this point, he said he's about halfway through it. probly a couple more days and he'll be ok.

thing is, i have a 2yr old dd. the moment he said ds was contagious i had to have scared the crap out of him cuz my first instinct was to throw my hands up and exclaim "oh great i have a daughter at home..." but she hasn't had any symptoms. ds only has fevers, that's it. because i'm checking his temperature about 50 times a day, every time i check him, dd is right behind him, cuz she want it taken just like her big brother. so i do. not like it'll hurt.

she's been on antibiotics for a double ear infection almost 2wks ago,it's almost gone (10 days) i don't think that will keep her from getting sick, so all week i've been giving her orange juice, pedialyte, and a couple ounces of milk for dinner. will the orange juice help keep her away from it? i've heard Vitamin C works...i've already missed a week of work. of course my kids' health comes first, but i really can't afford another week, so i'm trying to keep her away from getting it. anything else i can do besides orange juice?

oh yeah i'm spraying my house with Lysol like crazy, it was warm on monday so i opened all the windows for the house to air out, but we hit a cold front (of course. i hate this weather. 70 one day 40 the next. been like this almost all month) so we're back in the "trapped air"

  • Hope you are better by now. My 9 yr old missed 4 days of school last week with a sore throat and fever mess going around.
