Have you ever heard that you're not supposed to shower after you tan?

I've heard that but don't understand why?

  • it's because the dead skin cells wash off and that's what holds your tan at one point I had some lotion that would help keep them on while you showered but I can't remember what it was called.

  • I'm not referring to spray tanning, just regular tanning beds...Yea I always make sure I shower at least 5 hours after I use the tanning bed because I'm not sure why you can't immediately after, seems weirdk

  • Spray tan, not shower for 24 hrs, & wear loose clothing you don't mind possibly being ruined for AT LEAST 4 hrs after. Tanning beds, I have heard that you aren't supposed to shower until after the sun goes down (old wise tale I suppose because I have never heard a true reasoning why) but my mother always told me to wait until after sundown and to take a HOT shower if you are sunburnt. So I suppose that could kinda go hand-in-hand with tanning also ( if you get burnt any)

  • I've heard not to shower for at least an hour for lay down beds but not sure if that's true or not.
