I just got a good job working 2nd shift, does anyone have a school age child in a childcare center during 2nd shift?

I have family who can help right now but in time I may have to seek childcare options. We have a few daycares that are open until midnight, so I know I'm not the only one in this position. My boss says the job may eventually go to 1st shift which will make me lose a 12% shift differential, but I'd rather be there when my son gets home from school.

  • I really think there needs to be a day care that offers this. I always think that because so many parents work second shift. I was lucky enough to have my Mom babysit for me while I did but not everyone has that luxury. My sister and I discussed opening one that would offer this but we never went through with it.

  • Not many centers offer after hours care. You'll need to do a google search for your area I'd think. You could also try sittercity.com.
