  • Have you ever watched Everybody Loves Raymond? My mil's personality is similar to Marie. Bless her heart. She means well, but sometimes, she drives me crazy.

  • Nonexistent.......haven't seen or spoken to her in over a year....neither has DH. We had our kids bday party last month and asked FIL if he wanted to come...she "dropped him off" and we gave him a ride home. As soon as he was diagnosed with alzheimers, she took away his "driving priveledges"....my heart hurts for that man. I wouldn't treat a dog the way she treats FIL. =(

  • I have always had a great relationship with MIL.

However... Since having LO and then her daughter having a son.. Well, I feel kind of... useless? Like I had her grandchild, she doesn't need me anymore, especially since her favorite child just gave her another grandchild. Like, she promises to come out here and do things (We don't have a car, so have been relying on her for things like grocery shopping and doctors appointments) and she has been constantly cancelling. I mean, she always has at least a semi valid reason... But idk. Maybe this is just my depression speaking.

  • I love my MIL more than my own mother! She treats me with love, respect and dignity. Wish I could say the same for my mom. Oh, well, it's her loss and MIL's gain!
