What do you think of screaming toddlers in (family-friendly) restaurants?

Obviously not fancy restaurants, more like IHOP or Denny's. Do you allow your kids to scream for fun at the table?

  • i don't allow my kids to scream for fun anywhere unless they are in an outdoor play environment. but i wouldn't be mad or annoyed either if other kids were being loud. kids will be kids & if it's a family place, they should be comfortable. if i don't like it, i'll leave.

  • my kids are pretty behaved but if they do scream in a restaurant I do get very frustrated. I dont mind other kids either bcuz it happens and I feel bad for the parents bcuz they seem frustrated too. What I do HATE is when Im grocery shopping and the parents do let there kids dance around my cart run into me and they are screaming and the parents are just ignoring them like la de dah nothings wrong here!!!!

  • I just make my kid act human. He can't scream, normal people don't scream. If he won't calm down, I take him outside. I don't expect him to act like a 35 year old but he has to act like he has some sense when we're out in public, no matter where we are.

  • No, I don't allow it. If it's a baby, that's one thing but a toddler+ should be able to control themselves. If not, take them to the car or outside til they are calm.

  • My son acts like a normal toddler sometimes he acts up but most of the time he is pretty good. He will get warnings if he starts having a meltdown.

  • Scream? No. But kids do get loud sometimes, as long as it's not screaming it doesn't bother me.

  • First when its someone else, my heart goes out to them but I'm happy its not mine lol.

Second, when its mine I do my best to try and calm him down and keep him from screaming.

Even if its not a family friendly place, and I don't have my son. I don't get bent out of shape, but maybe thats because I'm a mom and can easily tune it.

  • I dont allow my kids to scream for fun unless it is an appropriate place, and a restaurant is not the proper place to scream for fun
