Do you crochet?

I crochet and I love it! I make a lot of blankets hats and headbands. But.. I don't really use patterns and I really suck at making flowers for my hats and headbands. Does anyone have a flower pattern they would be willing to share? (I know there are some online but most you have to pay for and since I am not working I don't want to buy them.)

  • Look on youtube. I get a lot of vídeo patterns from there. You can also get a lot of free patterns from lionsbrand yarn website if you sign up.

  • I've been into doing slippers the past couple weeks...and making flowers and other swirls for them. Found the inspiration here, but made my own pattern for each of our feet...different sizes.

  • In addition to YouTube videos, if you get PBS, they have 3 good shows for needlework: Knit and Crochet Today, Knit and Crochet Now, and Knitting Daily. They all have good instruction, info on different techniques, fibers, and needlework trends. They also are online, for free patterns and info.

Have you tried checking out the pricey clothing shops for ideas? I've seen some beautiful crochet-embellished sweaters for a hundreds of dollars. Not too hard to recreate for a fraction of the price. :-)
