  • Didn't we put plans in place during the last oil hike to start drilling? And it takes years for it to come into the market. What ever happened with that?

  • I think we need to drill. If not other countries will do it for us and then reem us on oil cost.

  • This crisis is a wake up call to invest more in alternative energy sources, which should have been done years ago. The volatility of the Middle East has been known for years but successive administrations have done little to reduce dependance on oil from the area . relying on ' friends ' like the Saudis to come through in a crisis . Drill, drill, drill will not solve the problem - as was said by Candi, it takes years for new oilfields to come into production and known reserves are insuffient to enable the US to become free of the need to import oil. Other countries are investing substantially in alternative energy sources but the US is lagging . It can be done but there is no politcal will to do it .
