  • depends on which side of the fence your looking at it from. Just for fun look at marrigae~ one side says 1man, 1woman the other side says any two consenting adults. From the point of view of rights only some are losing a right (to be married) while others already have the right and want to keep it to themselves. So is anybody losing a right?

IMO cant lose something you don't have, but anything that is granted to only a selection of the population is not a right but is a privilege and can be revoked at any time for any reason.

  • Everytime the government gets involved in some debate the possiblity of someone losing rights increases.

  • Definitely. Our freedoms are slowly but surely being taken from us.

  • We don't have smoking laws where I live but many business owners have imposed their own bans to protect the health of their employees and the wear and tear of their business. We owned a bar for a few years people smoked and even though the place was cleaned daily it was still gross from the cigarette residue. We implemented a smoking ban and found we had more business. Some smokers stopped coming to our bar but we gained so many non smoking customers who thanked us for giving them a place to have drinks with friends. We had an outdoor beer garden area for smokers so we didn't lose all of them. We saved 100k in just cleaning costs to get the black residue off the walls and other things in our business. Our employees were not sick as often since they were not exposed to so much second hand smoke which saved us and them money.

There isn't a right to smoke spelled out for smokers.
