When good kids go bad- well sort of (lol)

My 3rd grader came home very upset b/c she got put on yellow for the 1st time this year. She got caught up in an imprompto game of tag w/ some other kids & they all got put on yellow. She is so upset since she's a straight -A kid & never gets in trouble. While I'm all for backing up the teacher, I feel she has already learned her lesson & dont feel the need to take it any farther than our little talk. Dont you agree?

  • honestly, the only kids I know that NEVER pull a card or get a warning are total zombies... so, no, I don't think that this is a big deal, she is obviously a good kid and was just having fun and being a KID.

  • I think she has been punished enough. She has learned a valuable lesson to NOT play tag when she shouldn't be.

butterflyblue: I have a feeling that the kids played tag when they were supposed to be doing something else or they were running around the classroom, not at recess.

  • Yes I agree. I think with kids its a case by case thing and she sounds like a good kid and is probably beating herself up more then any punishment. My dd is 6 and in Kinder and moved a clip Monday for jumping up and down on her lunch seat lol. I deal with this much more often so she has worse consequences then a talking to. Youre very lucky its not a weekly thing.
