Tummy tuck at same time as c-section.

I would love to get a tummy tuck at the same time as my c-section.

I had been planning on a VBAC, but doc told me it wasn't going to be possible.

Now i'm wondering if have a tuck at the same time is even possible or if anyone has heard of it.

I figured kill 2 birds with 1 stone.

  • I've heard it's not a good idea, because they don't know how much your skin with shrink back, but check it out and see what the situation is.

  • Usually you can but it will cost you. It will also keep you separated from your newborn longer.

  • I'm prepared for the extra cost and know that due to them pulling the musels tighter that I will have more downtime, but I have a large family that has already agreeded to come and help me during the day while hubby works

  • I think it depends on the doctor. A friend of mine had hers done at the same time...

  • I thought they were two different types of doctors: an OB and a plastic surgeon. I've never heard of them being done at the same time, but I'm sure it's available somewhere. The best person to ask if your doc.

  • Also, by separation, I think she means immediately after birth, not just in the days following. You'd have your baby away from you for the rest of the surgery, at the very least.

  • Not to sound like a bad mommy but I believe my husband will be fine with the baby for a few extra hours while I finish up with the tummy tuck.

  • Yes it can totally be done if you set it up in advance. My OB actually asked if I had made any such arrangements. But no I didn't.

  • I don't have any experience with that. Good luck with whatever you choose.
