  • Every case is different. My husband didn't get paid out until about 3-4 mos after. He was already working again. You are lucky you are still getting work comp payments without a lawyer. We thought we didn't need one either, until the insurance company kept cutting him off left and right, but the doctor said he couldn't work either. The lawyer got us way more than we ever could have on our own, and he made sure when work comp was being paid that they didn't cut us off..

  • I don't know what your work comp is, but if you don't have an attorney, you could get screwed. I wouldn't be so trusting. Make sure that the settlement includes compensation for any care needed in the future from that injury. We would have lost everything if we tried to handle it ourselves. Work comp was just fine and dandy in the beginning, turned into our worse nightmare.
