Is it normal to have contractions at 17 weeks pregnant with 4th child

it seems like everytime i stand up my whole stomach gets rock hard and it pulls at my sides it isnt supposed to be painfull but i kinda is so if i could get some advice that would be great thank you

  • good luckbest advise is call DR.... it you are contracting and have not busted the bag of waters then they can STOP the labor!!! call dr hun.... you know what they say NO two pregnancies are the same hun! good luck

  • I've felt contractions with this pregnancy (my 4th) extremely early and it has been painful at times.  What I found out is that when the baby stretches out, it can cause your stomach to feel rock hard like a contraction and it can be painful.  I agree, check with your Dr. always want to be safe.

  • this is my fourth pregnancy and I got contractions (braxton-hicks) earlier too... so, think it's normal but you could always check but it sounds like there are others on here having the same experience.

  • Drink a lot of water because if your dehydrated you get contractions I know because it happened to me I was out in the heat of summer !
