do you have the answer? omg i hope so

okay we moved into our home a year ago and we have hardwood floors in the living room and hallway, can anyone pleeease tell me a product i can use to make them shine? they look terrrible the other people who had the house before us apparently did nothing with them. hubby and i have tried to orange glo products, he bought a product that was more of an oil then a was that worked well for like two days til the wood soaked up the oil. anyone have any ideas?

  • there is a product that Johnson Wax used to make called "Wood Preen". It's a liquid-like wax that you put on with a soft cloth. My mom used it on our 100 year old wood floors and they were gorgeous. It may still be out there...

  • murphys oil is what I use. if that does not work then floor wax.

  • yes we do need to redo them but can't afford that right now. i used murphy oil soap they are clean they just don't shine. i absolutely hate it they look so dull and dingy i love my house,except for these damn floors. i would take a picture and show you but wouldn't you know for some reason they look really good in pix. lol

  • Paste wax and a buffer. It will make them shine, it will protect them and it will make them slick as heck and a fall hazard to elderly and young children.

  • One more thing...if you rinse the Murphy's Oil Soap carefully, it will shine...but not a high gloss shine.

  • thank you ladies i get so tired of cleaning my house every day and making it look nice and then have to look at these floors and like i said cant afford to totally refinish them
