Car seats..

how often do you wash your children's seats? I try to wash every month or so, unless something spills on it. (take it apart, put padding in washing machine, wash off plastic in tub.. disinfect it)

  • Every month or two. But we will be moving to the booster soon. I do not think the covers come off those.

  • Only when they get grimy, about every 6 months. My car seats are nearly impossible to get in, so I don't take them out unless I have to.

  • Only when they start showing signs of dust/grime or if one of the kids spills something on their booster seats. (It is seriously hard to get the pads on and off of the seats.)

  • Almost never. I never think about it. I think I washed the covers of the old ones my oldest 2 had like twice in the 6 or so years we used them (through 4 different kids). That was usually because someone puked all over them. I have never washed my 4yo's seat and she's had it for almost 2 years.
