How long does it usually take for your milk to come in?

  • I think it took me about 3 days, never any more than that with my children.  With my last it came in the day after I had her.

  • 2-3 days I would say. I remember with my first I just started spraying milk in the was in! lol. It was not so drastic with my 2nd.

  • Mine started to come in around the 41st week in pregnancy, then two days after she was born it was full blown, huge, engorged breasts.

  • Up to six days postpartum is normal. If there is a delay past that, get checked for retained placenta. Milk is triggered by the delivery of the placenta.
