Anyone know to to get this paperwork?

My grandfather was in World War II. My dad has a purple heart and some other medals that his dad was awarded for his service, but the paper work that came with the medals is missing.
Does anyone know if there is a way to get copies of the paper work?

  • You need to go to the Department of Veterans Affairs in your state and request them.

  • Yep, you have to contact the military. My Grandmother has done this for all my Grandpa's medals and awards.

  • I'd do a google search. Find a government agency and then start making phone calls. Eventually you will get to the person or department that can answer your question. I would think they would be able to send copies of that paperwork to you.
