I have a piece of bone coming out of my gumline.

I had to have teeth pulled and i think its a piece of bone coming out, it hurts so bad and i am not sure what to do. People have said to try to push it out but it is so tender. Any ideas?

  • Go back to the dentist. It may not be bone but rather a shard of tooth that was left in. I had that. First, it was clipped so it wasn't sharp and cutting my tongue. My dentist at the time felt it would work itself out. I went to a new dentist and had the piece pulled out. It was awful because it was hooked under my jaw bone which explains why pulling that tooth was so terrible the first time (the dentist couldn't pull it out cleanly, it had to be broken to remove it). Good luck!!!

  • Go to the emergency room because they can give you antibiotics until you see your dentist. Try your hardest not to mess with it this can cause infections. I know the feeling and last weekend had some infection issues. Yesterday I seen my dentist but decided to change office. A dentist can really help you.
