What exactly happens in an aggravated assault with a deadly weapon case in TX?

My husbands ex/babymama was recently arrested for aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and I was wondering what all will take place.

  • Much will depend on what she will agree to. She may be offered a plea. It all depends on the prosecution and what they think they can get her for.

The stakes also go up if you are charged with causing serious injury or using a weapon while committing assault. Aggravated assault is a second-degree felony, and the penalty is 2 to 20 years in a Texas prison and/or a fine of up to $10,000.

The charges could likely be more serious depending on if someone got hurt and how bad they were injured.
