How to deal with extreme frustration by myself?

I have been getting extremely frustrated and annoyed lately. My kids are driving me crazy. They are constantly whining, well mostly my son is. My oldest ( son) picks on his little sister all the time. It pisses me off because he knows better. Just in general, I'm getting really stressed out by them. My son is 3.5 and my daughter is 20 months.

  • Take a breather mama!  Sit back, look around, and bask in the chaos.  I've found that getting stressed out only makes the situation work so now I laugh.  Laugh like a maniac, it will throw your kids off, lol.

  • Take some time for yourself. Get a babysitter once a week (or more often) and go out & do whatever you want. During that time don't even think about anything except what makes you happy. Everyone needs time to recharge.

  • Set some clear rules/ expectations and consequences and stick with them. They'll figure it out pretty quickly.

  • Put your foot down. I would make them sit down and be quiet. Or seperate them.

  • Your children are responding to your negative energy. Try to do something for you so you can calm down and get back some positive energy. That will calm them down. Can someone watch them for you so you can take a break?

  • I used to drop mine off at Sunday School just so I could go have an hour a week to myself.

  • I sometimes get breaks from my fiancée. However I should be able to learn to cope with them on my own. Their my responsibly and my kids. I would have a babysitter for them right now if I could afford one every week for a couple of weeks.
