and this is how it went:
Me: Hi, i was wondering if Tricare covers the no-needle vasectomy.
Her:Dead Silence (i mean so dead there wasn't even anything in the background)
Her: Th-the what?
Me: The no-needle vasectomy
Her: again, dead silence
Me: Are you there?
Her: Um, has the doctor given you a code or anything (ok i don't know about you, but i've never heard of a doctor giving you a code...)
Her: well in order to know what we cover you have to have a code.
Well, what the hell? how does an insurance company not know what they cover? all i want to know is, will they cover it, so that my husband can get it. anyone else know?

I called Tricare the other day to ask if something was covered and I didn't have to give them a code. The person that you were talking to was an idiot and didn't understand what you were talking about, and didn't want to take the time to find out. You should call again and you will get somebody else that will hopefully know what they are talking about. If not I agree with little.miss.mom, ask your PCM. If that fails maybe try their website??
