Can a carseat be too big for an airplane?

I'm gonna ask delta before I order the tickets but has anyone been denied to the plane because the car seat was too big? Ours is pretty big.

  • yes. you'd better call and give them the dimensions..for an extra-large carseat to take up extra-space, i'd see where its no different than a body taking up extra space. might cost ya more (two seats for the larger carseat).

  • Yes. I think they only allow a certain kind of small carseat. Just check the carseat and put the child in the regular seat belt. How old is she? I just carried my kids on my lap until they were 2.
