  • Cold medicines aren't safe to give children under 4 years, so it's best to just treat her symptoms with moist air and keep her nasal passages cleared.

  • if you choose to use vapor rub, put it on the soles of her feet. put socks over her feet (especially if she like to chew on her toes). it sounds strange, but i have heard from many people that it work. they swear by it!

no cold meds though. if she's achy or feverish, then give her tylenol NOT motrin. (until she's six months)

if you have a cool mist humidifer, then use it. it will help. if you don't, then run hot water in the shower and bring her into the steamy bathroom to help clear her passages.

i hope your kiddo feels better soon!

  • I agree with the others. Humidifier and vicks. You can also turn the shower on and get the bathroom steamy to help clear congestion a bit. No cold medicines. But the cough is actually not necessarily a bad thing. It helps get all of the gunk out of there. Hope it gets better soon!
