How long does 100 gallons of heating oil last?

Were getting towards the end of where we will need heat. We have a monitor heater. I put 100 gallons is at a time. I have never run out. Last time I put some in was around 4 weeks ago. I probably had 15 gallons left when I put in 100, which brought me to 115 gallons. How long will it last? Anyone know? I dont want to put in more oil. The min here is 100 gallons and I dont want to put in another 100 gallons for a week or two of heat.

  • We also heat with oil, and if you had 115 gallons a month ago I would expect you will need more oil before the end of this winter.

  • The companies we have used, will only bring out a delivery for 200 or 250 gallons and it usually lasts a month

  • Not sure, think it depends on the house etc. 100 gallons is a whole lot though, probably a month esp since you just filled it up what a month ago? Should be around the same.
