Do you have any "what if" thoughts?

Like "What if I would have moved away?" "What if I would have married my first love?" "What if I would have pursued an exciting career instead of a "smart" career?"

Are there any nagging thoughts that you have?

  • I always think 'what if I hadn't gone through the hard times, would I appreciate everything the way I do?' 'what if everything had gone the way I had planned it, would I have the great life I have now?' It is scary to think that one small decision can really impact your life for better or worse.

  • Yesss. "What if I hadn't have gotten pregnant?"

I always wonder what I'd be doing right now. Probably still working at Walgreens and my boyfriend and I wouldn't be living in this hellhole O.O

  • Yes, I wish I would have finished college when my car broke down...I had to decide tuition or car to get to college and work. I had to quit and work two full time jobs, that is where I met my husband. I guess it was meant to happen because we dated 3 yrs. been married for 5yrs. Eight years and three kids later here we are. Now I work as a night time cashier, and wish I could have become the teacher I always wanted to be, but more importantly....LIFE HAPPENED. I have my husband and children and couldn't imagine life without them.

  • yep sure I think everyone has those. But our lives are what we made them and I always tell myself I wouldnt be the person I am today if I had made other choices and might not have my children I have today either.

  • We had a stillborn in January, and we knew there were problems before but we decided to carry anyways. I always ask myself " what if I would have listened to the doc and aborted", how much I would regret it and not have the peace I have now.
" What if I would have finished vet tech school, where would I be now". I got pregnant with my first and had to quit.
"What if I married that other guy". How miserable would I be?
" What if I wouldn't have moved in with the in-laws 3 years ago, would I have gained this weight". We dont live there now thank God...
    Everyone has what-ifs...!

  • the most common one i have is "what if i would of never had my son!? where would i be? would i be with his dad? would we of lasted? would i probably be working?"

but then after sitting back, i'm like i'm glad i have them. becuz other wise i dont know if it would be worth it. all i know is to be a mom. and without that i feel empty.

  • YES! What if my husband and I got married before having kids, what if we finished college before having kids, omg we'd have such a nice place to live and good jobs!

  • I guess I never answered with mine. A few days after graduation I moved to California to go to Electrology school...I had a friend/boyfriend out there and in my young head I thought we would really "make it". Well we ended up breaking up and I moved home as soon as I finished my degree. I guess I wonder what would have happened if I would have stayed there and made a life in California or if things would have worked out between the boyfriend and I. I don't think it would be better than what I have now by any means, but it would have been a world different and I think more exciting even though excitement doesn't usually lend itself to security and now that I have an adult life, I would prefer security.
