  • Forcing her to sit while you listen is not going to be beneficial. You have to keep learning fun. While she's trying to interact with you, just count her fingers and toes. Give her blocks to play with and then count them. You can even count her Cheerio's or crayons. But what will not work is trying to coerce her to learn when she is not in the right mind set. When she's eating, you might try but the second she starts to get irritated it's best if you just wait until she's back in the mood. Children do not learn well under stress.

  • to get my son to LISTEN, i make sure i have his full attention, if that means turning off tv, taking away toys, it happens. i also talk calmly to him, hold his hands and look him in the eye. if he is acting up and doesnt do as told, he gets a time out or spanking depending on whats going on. tantrums will happen, but keep your cool, its hard but try counting to 10, and punish consistantly or it will not work! you will not see a change over night but in time it will help.

  • Get down on her level and talk in low and calm tones. Look her right in the eyes and she will at least pay attention to you. It's a start.
