How can I ease heartburn?

I have a horrible new symptom...Heartburn and its terrible...lol...I hate it. How can I ease it down a bit?

  • Take tums until you see a doctor, maybe he/she can offer something else, ask about whether you can take Prevacid or pepcid, or maybe they can prescribe something to you.

  • Peppermint is good for heartburn.

    My mother swears that a sip of lemon juice (stuff in the bottles) is good for it. Never tried it for myself though.

  • I had HORRID heartburn with my dd when I was prego with her. My OB ended uo prescribing "zantac" ohhhh what sweet relief! I would also eat icecream sandwiches like the bananna spilit flavored; lol

  • Pepcid complete was a life saver for me! You only take one a day and you are good! Ask your doctor if you can take it, my doctor said it was ok, but some doctors are different.

  • Eat small frequent meals, avoid anything with caffeine, onions, garlic, chocolate, and anything spicy, greasy, fried or fatty, and be sure to stay upright for at least 20-30 minutes after eating. You can also put blocks under the legs of the head of your bed to help if it's still bad. Hang in there, mama!

  • I was put on Protonix b/c my heartbrun was so bad when pregnant with DD
