  • Helps you go into labor, basically, the doctor will insert their fingers and press against your cervix while twisting around some... a little painful yes, but for some it will help induce labor

  • Stripping of the membranes hurts like a BITCH,is 9 times out of 10 ineffective, can lead to an infection, and is just a very bad idea in general. I wouldn't even think the word induction unless there is a MORTAL NEED of it,such as you and/or baby are dieing RIGHT NOW without it. Pain will subside, your baby will be born when it's time, and you won't be pregnant forever. Try different positions, try walking more,or prenatal yoga. Try heating pads or ice packs, tylenol, massages. If the pain is skeletal you might even need a referal to a prenatal chiropractic specialist for an adjustment. Take care of yourself and it'll all be over in due time.
