7 month old daughter woke with bright red sploches on her stomach and back. They are not raised or appear to be dry, cracked or scaly.

Have not introduced new foods or laundry products, room temp is at 70 degrees. Does anyone have any idea what this could be.

  • I don't know for sure what it could be, the 1st 'guess' that popped into my head was possibly a reaction to a bug or spider bite.
    I would call the doctor.

  • it could be Rosiola, especially if she has had a fever lately. But the mom who suggested Strep throat is also on the right track....this happend to one of my sons and he had no other syptoms before that.

  • Fifths disease or just a viral rash, either can be quite common. They just have to run their course. I hope baby feels better soon!
