May or may not be a stupid question, please help I'm still learning. How do you count calories in a meal. Like I cook but it's a set recipe, how do know the calories in it?

  • 1 gram of protein = 4 calories
    1 gram of carbs = 4 calories
    1 gram of fat = 9 calories

You can pick up a relatively inexpensive gram scale at most kitchen or grocery stores.

  • What Mrs.Coop said....seems daunting at first, but once you do it, you can keep a list of what the calorie/fat content of each meal is without having to do it each and every time =)

  • When I first started my diet I became obsessed with counting calories. It was driving my family nuts. I decided to do weight watchers and I like it sooo much better. Keeping track of points is so much simpler than counting calories.
