Best family vacation spot for 10 year old and 6 month old

Planning to take a vacation this year and we want to go somewhere that is kid friendly that isn't a fortune. We went to Disney two years ago and that just isn't a place for kids unless you only go one day. My 8 year old son barely made it through 1/4 of one park before getting grumpy and ill from being hot and tired. Not to mention for 5 days, it was over 3,000!! LOL. We were thinking Gatlinburg but we've already been there. Where do you take your small kids on vacation?

  • We've been doing beach vacations since DD was about 2. Some of my favorites are Navarre and Perdido Key in Florida and the Outer banks in North Carolina. All places have lots of activities that are close for kids. And depending on when you go, it can be affordable. We went to the Outer Banks during the off season, and rented a huge beach house with our friends (2 couples, one with 2 kids) and it only costs us a little over $2000 total with renter's insurance and taxes. (we split that cost 3 ways)

  • Busch Gardens Williamsburg is a great place plus there is a lot of other stuff to do in Williamsburg. Colonial Williamsburg, Merchant's Square (there is an incredible candy store), outlet shopping (Children's Place always has incredible sales) and the beach is not that far either

  • You might try a great wolf lodge. It looks fun. They have several kids programs including the waterpark, but you can just relax back in your room if your children get tired.

  • Ok this may sound funny but Las Vegas we go there all the time and when i ask my son where he wants to go for vac he say's vegas and we stay at Circus Circus it's all about kids they have a theme park, daily circus show with a hugh arcade upstairs for kids of al ages clowns everywhere rides, games and fun.
Then the lights are great at night and the kids love it just walking up and down the strip and going in hotels and mostly all of them have arcades for your 10 year old son and Circus circus has 3 swimming pools and donut shops candy stores just a little world in itself and the food isn' bad either.
