WWYD? I am so unhappy with our computer geek right now!

We've never had a true problem with this guy. His folks and the IL's have been friends forever, the guy & DH grew up together, etc. Long story short. The guy sells re-furbed computers - we needed something inexpensive & easy for our business (mostly for FIL to use for meetings). We stopped by the guy's "shop" 2 weeks ago, picked out a computer, liked the price, etc, FIL liked it, yadda yadda yadda. We agreed to swap money & computer over the weekend - didn't quite happen. They guy e-mailed the bill us last night - along with a note saying instead of the computer we picked, he'd found a "better" one - totally different brand, slightly bigger screen, same price. Whatever, we know someone who has the brand and it's been okay for him. FIL picks up the computer today, pays him, takes it home. DH goes over to check it out, set it up, etc - opens the box, opens the computer (laptop), and lo & behold - the f***in screen is cracked! DH calls the guy, it's now been 2 hours and he hasn't called back. FIL drove over an hour away to pick it up, so it's not like we can just quick hop over there with it. WWYD?

  • just get the guy as soon as possible and be polite relax tell the problem or canceled the deal.
