  • Tylenol cold and cough. If this do not work then you will have to take him to his doctor.

  • My son was coughing and throwing up - We were told by our doctor to give him children's sudafed. This helped with nasal congestion and pressure. The coughing was mainly at night, I think from mucus or sinus dripping. The sudafed helped.

  • Try the chloraseptic spray. The red yucky stuff. It numbs your throat up some and will help with the irritation.
Or try warm tea with honey and lemon. Or do the tea and then the spray. GL!

  • Call the Dr. Wait for them to call you back. In the mean time, you can try sitting in the bathroom and steaming it up with the child, or stepping outside in the cold night air... NOT BOTH. You should keep him hydrated with lots of fluids, including using a vaporizer. Keep the child away from pets, smoke and dusty areas. Use an air purifier if you have one. But I would not do any type of medication before I spoke to the Dr.

  • my son suffers from's from post-nasal drip. the dr. prescribed nose spray, but it made him get really bad nosebleeds, so i switched him to the otc children's claratin and that really did the trick. now he has a cold though and he's back to coughing. i feel bad. the other things you can do is rinse the nose 2x a day with saline drops (or mist), and use a vaporizer (or hot shower, but i like the vaporizer in the room at night). that really cuts down on the time it takes to get rid of the cold. gl and i feel your pain (we're all sick!)

  • Is it a cold? Have you called your doc,,if so, humidity, vicks, cough drops,, but if you haven't called your doctor, I sure would start there, Whooping Cough is on a HUGE outbreak right now, and even if your kiddo has been vaccinated, they can still get it, good luck!
