FB question

hubby and i both have ourselves set to friends only. but we are getting messages and friend invites from people we do not care to associate with. i have even checked our settings it says it is friends only and private. so how is it a person can still send a message to you if you are on private and friends only when they are not on your list? is there anything else we can do other then getting rid of fb altogether? hubby is frustrated and said he may give up his account. i play games on there and have family on there so i do not want to. is there anything else i am missing to give more privacy?

  • 1. Go to account at top right corner.
    2. Click privacy settings from drop down menu
    3. Click on view settings under connecting on facebook at top of page.
    4. Change the settings of the messages, and sending friend requests

  • the only way someone cannot send you a message is if you block that person. you would have to go into your account settings, under privacy, and click block user. this will only keep out the people currently bothering you though, and will not keep out future unfriended people who might try to message you. atleast these people cannot see your profile though.

  • I believe there's a setting where you can choose not to recieve msgs from anyone. Lemme check it out and i'll be back to post a link or something.
