Section 8 houseing in Michigan?

Does anyone know anything about applying for Section 8 Houseing in Michigan? Has anyone had experience with it?

  • I live in Michigan you ahve to call the city hall and ask when they are having the open sign up. Otherwise if you go to a shelter, because you have no place to live, they will put you on the list automatically. If you get any state assistance talk to your worker, they should beable to give you more info. There is a time when you can sign up but I heard the line gets to be really long, a neighbor waited 3 hours last year or so I heard ... I dont know about it but call the city hall or you can look it up online.

  • Thanks for the advice Mommy_of_two_85, this houseing would actually be for my brother... and he does get state assistance already... so I guess we should start by talking with his case worker...
