When do you like to workout and what do you eat before?

I like waking up early to workout (while the kids are asleep) and I have a coffee and something light before it like a granola bar.If I oversleep, then i workout in their naps. I'm a SAHM.

  • you never want to eat right before a workout. Generally, you want easily digestible carbs (juice or piece of fruit) between 15-30min before a workout and lean protein after. (I usually drink a glass of skim milk 15 min after a work out.)

  • I usually work out on an empty stomach and then eat something high in protein about 15-30 minutes after I've finished.

  • Also, if you workout before the kids wake up, work out before eating.. that way you burn fat instead of what you just ate

  • i just started doing p90x last night ... i have to do them when i get off work so around 9pm. i eat protein after since i have pushed my muscles so much, they need those nutrients. all day though i eat well, raw fruits, dried fruits fresh veggies, nuts, salad water etc.

  • If i'm hungry or working out in the am I will have a light snack like a piece of fruit.

  • I work out after the kiddo goes to bed, about 8PM. We have dinner around 6, so I don't feel the need to eat anything else before working out.

  • I tend to workout late at night. I know it's not the best, but it's the only time that I have available.

  • I have to have my latte before I can run. Then I have to let it settle! But that's what I have before, then I eat breakfast. Or I go midmorning, after my breakfast has settled, just depends on the day. When I drive to my running trail, I keep a banana in the car for afterward, and then I do my strength training once I get home.
