  • My midwife basically said after the bleeding stops it all about "when you feel up to it". As long as you stop if it's uncomfortable. I don't think there's any harm if it felt ok for you.

  • The only thing you need to consider is your cervix may not be totally closed yet.

  • I think that if you feel fine and think it will be OK then most likely you are, but still be careful.

  • I believe the reason for waiting is to lower your risk of infection, which I believe is higher when you are still dilated.

  • I had sex 2 weeks after a csection without a problem.

  • As long as YOU are ready and you are listening carefully to your body and your partner is careful... it shouldn't be a problem. I had sex with my first at 4 weeks and i was ready and perfectly fine.

  • I waited with first baby but with 2nd baby I didn't. We had sex 3 weeks after when I felt up to it. I didn't get an infection or anything.

6 weeks is just standard but MANY HCPs are only recommending 2-4 weeks for a normal vaginal delivery now days.
