Agree with Obamas executive order?

Obama just signed an Executive order that will allow prisoners in Gitmo to be detained for the remainder of their lives even if acquitted in a military trial. Seems like a far cry from his promise to shut Gitmo down.

Yup, gotta move the Jackass to the center till November of 12.
that's ok, as long as there are some seriously pissed off Democrats somewhere ( like WI, OH, NJ, FL, NY ) I'm happy. LOL

  • I do enjoy the fact though, that while he spends 18 months or so in the center signing more conservative legislation, it still won't win him the election. He's so convinced he won't win- his campaign needs $1 Billion to move forward. Sad. And FUNNY at the same time.

  • Hey here's your liberal reply....this is what I got from the quick read:
    (b) This order is intended solely to establish, as a
discretionary matter, a process to review on a periodic basis
the executive branch's continued, discretionary exercise of
existing detention authority in individual cases. It does not
create any additional or separate source of detention authority,
and it does not affect the scope of detention authority under
existing law. Detainees at Guantánamo have the constitutional
privilege of the writ of habeas corpus, and nothing in this
order is intended to affect the jurisdiction of Federal courts
to determine the legality of their detention.

Sounds like he was continuing this same policy with a "periodic review." Sounds pretty lame. Why even bother with the order, then?
