Has anyone ever used the robitussin trick to help get pregnant?

  • It's taking plain Robitussin (not Robitussin DM) in the days leading up to ovulation because it thins cervical mucus and makes it easier for the little swimmers to get through.

    I actually did this while I was on clomid... my doctor suggested it because clomid sometimes has the side of effect of drying up mucus which paradoxically makes it harder to get pregnant. I did it with three cycles of clomid, two were unsuccessful but I did get pg the third time. It can't hurt, but unless you have hostile mucus or a similar problem, it may not increase the odds that much either.

  • no, but i was on antibiotics when i got pregnant. i had a sinus infection pretty bad and got some medication for it, and poof, i was preggers. :) i have ovarian cysts and have trouble getting pregnant.

  • my friend at work had a hard time getting pregnant. Tried for a couple of years with no luck. It worked almost right away for her!
