Do you keep recipes simple or do you jazz them up?

  • Most of the things I cook are jazzed up because I'm from the Gulf Coast and our foods are Cajun. But for staple foods like Spaghetti, cream of mushroom chicken I'll keep it simple and spare the extra seasonings.

  • When trying something new I generally stick with the recipe for the most part, the only changes I make initially are to make it more diet friendly...if it has potential, then I will put it in rotation and tweek it to my liking each time until it is perfect =)

  • If it's something new, and I'm actually using a recipe, I'll follow it pretty exactly. Anything else is fair game - sometimes we like simple and plain, sometimes we like to go all out - depends what the kids want most of the time though, they don't always like the fancy stuff!
