Is she trying to steal MY house? ;)

So I have an acquaintance who is looking for a house. I am also looking for one. And I found one. Great price, great area, great schools! So I told her about it. Now she's asking me for the address...why?
Is she trying to steal my house?

  • Possibly. When I'm looking for the same thing a friend is I don't share too much information unitl I know I don't want it.

  • Have you put an offer on it?

  • She could likely be trying. I tend to avoid telling people too much about things until I either have it or have changed my mind.

Why would she need to know the address? Just a bit odd.

  • sounds like it. always wait until everything is in order for you before you divulge info to others. GL

  • I would think so....dont tell her...that or say that you already have all the paperwork started so its off the market....then she wont bother....

  • Maybe she just wants to see it and share your excitement.

  • Certainly odd, I think I would conveniently "forget" the address until I've decided if it's a fit for me!

  • could be.

  • Yes, quite probable. If she is looking in a certain price range, my guess is that you will be competing on each new house. Just keep it hush-hush unless an offer is accepted.
