Does any one know how to make a "gritty" fudge?

My grandmother used to make chocolate fudge that was smooth (i can do that one) and one that was like "gritty" but no one has the recipe for the second one. Does anyone know what I am taking about?

    2 c. sugar
    1 1/2 tbsp. cocoa
    2/3 c. milk
    Dash salt
    2 tbsp. white corn syrup
    1 tsp. butter
    1 tsp. vanilla

    Combine sugar, cocoa, salt, syrup and milk. Cook to 236 degrees softball. Remove from heat; add butter and vanilla. Cool, then beat until creamy. Pour into greased pan.

  • mm the only gritty fudge i know of would have oatmeal in it i think.
