  • Never met an Amish person so no

  • No, but we do live in a county with a large Amish community and most people around here hire Amish workers on a regular basis to do construction jobs, etc. I don't know if they are on their "break" but I definitely would.

  • They are hard workers. I love their work ethic. I'd hire them too.

  • Ruthmom802, I'd like to hear you answer your own question. My answer is no. I had carpentry work done by an Amish man. He had to be driven the hour to our house to work. So I can't imagine I'd come across a kid here on Rumspringa.

  • Hello, Whimsee:
To answer your question, No I have never offered one of the teens a job. I do ministry work for Amish in TN and have pen-pals across the country. I really like to see people giving the teens a second chance while they are away from family and familiar settings. I was asking out of pure curiosity. I love these people dearly.
