2 Bumps

Garlic......I used a couple of cloves and noticed a brown or green spot in the middle!

Good thing I had an extra bulb, got scared and threw them away. When in doubt, throw them out! But what does the spot in the middle mean???

  • It means it is beginning to sprout, no need to throw it out.

  • A green spot is probably the garlic getting ready to sprout; not a safety issue in any way. Brown may mean it was starting to sprout and died; that would be spoilage.

  • Well it's a Bulb.. of garlic. So when it grows, it would be more than one shoot out of the ground, just like a tulip, ect.
