just about everyone is - i would not file bk - always work out what you can with credit card companies, they want to get paid like everyone else - just never tell them you cannot afford paymetns - ask more for lower rates - or transfers - move the money around for lower rates

    Close to $100K!

We are actually going thru bankruptcy right now!

Our family business killed us this year due to all the rising costs of running it so we charged everything hoping and praying that things would turn around! They haven't and we are so far into debt there is no other way for us to get out of it.

To top it off, I can't even find a job! Thank goodness for food stamps, wic and free medical thru the state! If it wasn't for these things, we wouldn't be able to survive right now!

Dont Have one, dont want one, dont need one, I think its such a con. You are buying things you cant afford to just pay for later and then you never pay the card off.. My husband and i both hate credit cards. If we cant afford something we dont buy it. We save money.. Even if its just a doller one month and $500 the next. We survive.. I do unserstand when its needed but thats just the way we live our life... Good Luck to you guys though!!

Nope! I was raised "if you don't have the cash, you don't need it" of course at the time I didn't appreciate the saying however it sure has helped in an economy such as the one we're in. Good luck to ya!

I am. It is so easy to say if you don't have money don't by it. Well My car broke down and needed repairs. I did not have almost 2 thousand dollars laying around to fix it. So it went on my CC. All together we are about $3500. Not bad. We messed up when we where younger. Had horrible interest rates. But I do not regret it. If we didn't have those CC we would not have the credit that we do now. Which is in the excellent bracket.

Nope. We use credit cards, but we pay them off in full when the bill comes. They actually pay us because we earn "cash back" for using the card. We use it for a year (paying in full each month) and then cash in the "cash back" and go on vacation or buy something we want. We have 2 cards and after a year, we end up with about $300 cash back on each one ($600 total).
