Mother's of 10mth olds....

My son is on Omnisef for an ear infection and his poop is bright RED. My oldest son was on it several times as a baby and never had that problem, should I be concerned?
Also, what is your daily schedule like for your 10mth old, including during the night?

  • My son has been on Omnisef before and that has never happened, you should give the dr or the pharmacy a quick call and see what you should do. No advice on the schedule- I have a 4 yr old and 8 1/2 month old.

  • Maybe call the pharmacist? As far as routine goes I have a 12month old but...7am wake up, Nap anywhere in following 10am-1pm, Breastfeeding on demand, Nap again in evening around 6pm Bed 9pm to 11pm In bed but sometimes nursing several times a night. Hope this helps.

  • Did you read the pamphlet that came with it? If I recall, that's a common side effect of omnisef although it's been a while since my kids were on it. At 10 months, my kids still took 2 naps, woke at 7 am, nap between 9-10am, lunch at 12, then nap from 1-3:30pm, snack and then play, supper at 6, bedtime at 7:30pm and slept through the night.

  • My son is 10 months. He wakes up at 7:30am, has breakfast at 8am, lunch at 11am, I lay him down at 12:30 and he sleeps for 2 hours, snack at 3pm, dinner at 5pm, bath at 7;30pm, he falls asleep by 8pm but sometimes has a little milk in a sippy after his bath if he seems thirsty. I took the bottle away at 9 months and he didnt even notice.

  • Can't help you with the medicine but I would call the doctor. As for schedule , my son just turned 11 months so our day is like this: wakes between 6:30-7am, breakfast at 7-7:30 (depending on time he got up), play, get dressed, take sister to preschool at 9am, snack at 10:30am, lunch at 12pm, nap at 1:30-3-3:30, dinner between 4:30-5, bath at 7pm, read a story and bed. Sometimes he gets a bottle and cereal at 7:30 if the day doesn't go as planned.

  • It dosn't sound normal at all and I would just call up at the hospital and ask to talk to a nurse for a professional opinion. :)

But our schedule is get up at 8:00 am eat breakfast, watch a learning tv show, play with toys, read, and then have a little snack, and then lunch a hour later,. nap time at 12. and woke up at 1:30 and then went to bed at 9 it was hard to get her to sleep earlier then that. But that's the routine, she is 18months now and goes to bed at 8:30 she used to go to bed at 10:30 before she turned 8 months old.

I hope this helps, good luck with your little angel :) I know this will help you feel better to just ask, that way you don't have to gather up everything and wait 3 hrs to see a doctor. :)
